2013 Jon C. Dalton Institute on College Student Values: Call for Awards

Beginning in 2011 the Dalton Institute has presented two awards related to character and values development: Dissertation of the Year Award and Best Practices Award.  The direct link for awards submissions is: http://studentvalues.fsu.edu/Awards. Dissertation of the Year Award

The recipient of this year’s award (2013) shall receive the following:

  • Complimentary 2013 Dalton Institute on College Student Values registration
  • $500 award for future research
  • Recognition at the Dalton Institute on College Student Values
  • Presentation of dissertation research in a program at the Dalton Institute on College Student Values
  • Consideration for publication in the Journal of College and Character

Entrants in the Dissertation of the Year Award competition must have completed their dissertation and had their degree conferred between September 1, 2011 and August 31, 2012. Previous nominations will not be considered.

Best Practices Award

The recipient of this year’s award (2013) shall receive the following::

  • Complimentary 2013 Dalton Institute on College Student Values registration to no more than two people involved in the award-winning best practice
  • $500 award
  • Recognition at the Dalton Institute on College Student Values
  • Presentation of the practice/program in a session at the 2013 Dalton Institute on College Student Values
  • Consideration for publication in the Journal of College and Character and/or the Character Clearinghouse.

Entrants in the Best Practices Award must provide evidence of a program or practice that has contributed significantly to the field of college student character and values development. This award seeks to recognize innovative and effective approaches to the development of student character and values.
