The College of Education awards scholarship funds to an incoming freshman who has been admitted to Michigan State University and intends to pursue teacher certification in elementary, secondary or special education through participation in UECP or GECP. To be considered for this scholarship, students must be able to document financial need. Preference is given to candidates who are single parents with financial responsibility for their child or children and/or those who are among the first generation in their family to attend college. These awards are renewable for each of the next four years (through the Internship Year), for students who remain enrolled and in good standing in the teacher preparation program.
