UECP students are required to intern in an urban school district in Michigan or Chicago. Urban classroom experiences are incorporated throughout the teacher preparation program. GECP students engage in specialized field placements that provide culturally rich learning experiences. All GECP students are required to have at least one Global Experience, which can include participation in an MSU Study Abroad program, another approved international experience, or an approved domestic program that provides experience working and/or learning in a new cultural environment.
