Heller featured on MSU Today show with Simon, Hollis
Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon and Athletic Director Mark Hollis welcomed College of Education Dean Donald Heller to their monthly MSU Today radio program, which is now featured on the Spartan Podcast.
Their conversation focuses on critical areas such as urban education, problems facing our public education system and Heller’s vast background of experience in higher education finance and policy.
Heller says he is happy to be at MSU, not only because of the reputation of the college, but because of its people and their enthusiasm, talent and sense of community.
The program is scheduled to air three times:
- 7:06 p.m. on Thursday February 2 on AM 760 WJR
-7 p.m. on Friday February 3 on 88.9 FM The Impact
-4:06 p.m. on Sunday February 5 on AM 870 WKAR
Dean Heller is thoroughly convinced the MSU College of Education is a great place to receive a quality education, and produces leaders in its respective fields.
Many people think “teachers tend to come from the lower half of academic distribution and that’s part of the problem in public education,” Heller said. “Well, that’s certainly not true here at Michigan State. Our students have come into our teacher education programs outperform[ing] almost every other major.”
Heller’s full conversation on MSU Today is available on the Spartan Podcast website.
