Robert E. Floden, dean of the Michigan State University College of Education, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE).
The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing finances and setting policy for AACTE, the nation’s leading organization on educator preparation.
Floden was elected by representatives from more than 800 member institutions across the country. His appointment as an at-large board member begins in 2017 and ends in 2020.
“Teacher preparation is a central part of our work here in the College of Education, and we have been seen as a leader for preparing teachers,” said Floden. “I’m pleased to serve in this role during an important time, because of national attention on teacher education and new regulations for reporting about teacher preparation.”
