Pivarnik walks NASCAR track to promote fitness, obesity awareness

Jim Pivarnik, a renowned professor of kinesiology and epidemiology at the Michigan State University College of Education, recently participated in a 1-mile “track walk” to promote the importance of fitness within the Michigan community. The walk took place at Michigan International Speedway during  NASCAR’s Pure Michigan 400 race.

Pivarnik, who was accompanied by several MSU students, spoke to the crowd about the benefits of exercise.

 “We need to remind people at every opportunity of the importance of getting enough exercise in their daily routine,” he said.
