TEDxMSU: (Kyle Chong) Anti-Racism at Sunset: Happiness as Horizon

April 21, 2021

Presenting the eighth TEDxMSU 2021 speaker, Kyle Chong.

Kyle Chong is a Ph.D. student, in the Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education program in the College of Education at Michigan State University researching social studies teacher education, anti-racist teaching, and curriculum studies. In addition to his work in teacher education, Kyle has conducted research in Asia as well as work with Asian American teachers.

Kyle’s talk, “[Anti-] Racism at Sunset; Happiness as Horizon” seeks to reframe the ideas of horizons as an orientation, rather than a destination, and use this framing to help center both the immediate needs and long-term goals for students’ spiritual and emotional knowledge survival, and advocates for greater Asian American representation in the social studies curriculum.

See Kyle and others speak at TEDxMSU’s first virtual conference on April 21st.
