Educational Technology
The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology is a transcriptable credential that prepares educators who work with students in a range of educational settings to help students become powerful digital-age thinkers, makers and problem solvers.
What is the Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology?
The Graduate Certificate (GC) in Educational Technology is designed to assist current educators who work with students in a range of educational settings in becoming better teachers by utilizing new technologies to improve instructional practice in order to help their students become powerful digital-age thinkers, makers, and problem solvers. As a GC in Educational Technology student, you will acquire foundational knowledge and skills that will transform your thinking about how, why, and when to integrate a range of digital technologies to support your students’ learning. This program will help you re-think your own practice, evaluate your own beliefs about what helps students learn, and consider new ideas and perspectives that you might otherwise have overlooked or not encountered. The certificate signifies that you have foundations in theories and practices of technology integration in educational settings.
The Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology:
- is 9 credits, 3 courses – CEP 810, CEP 811, CEP 812
- signifies that students are powerful digital-age thinkers, innovative makers, and problem solvers in educational settings

We give you choices that fit your needs. You can take classes online. Our Overseas summer cohort program offers four weeks of face-to-face learning.
Why should I do it?
A lot of students in the Educational Technology Graduate Certificate program enroll because, as professionals, they know there are ways to use digital tools that go beyond just “adding on” or using technology for its own sake. They’re eager to learn new technologies but they’re especially eager to figure out how to use those technologies to enhance learning.
Learners need to learn how to evaluate, analyze, curate, create, deconstruct, remix, and learn complex content using a range of digital tools. More than ever, your learners need teachers who can help them to leverage digital tools to become powerful digital users, makers and thinkers. The courses in the Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology program will give you the foundation needed to operationalize this in your professional practice.
What do students say?
“The course is very organized and I knew what to expect each week. At the same time, I felt like I was challenged weekly with new types of assignments. All of the content felt very relevant to my teaching.” – CEP 810 Student, Fall 2020
“I had very high expectations for the instructional design of the course, and I must say it exceeded my expectations. By working through a very thoughtfully designed graduate level course, the experience opened up my mind to the possibilities in online course development. Being that my end goal is to be an instructional designer, this learning was invaluable.” – CEP 811 Student, Fall 2020
“This course was uplifting and enlightening in terms of content, assignments and collaboration.” – CEP 811 Student, Fall 2020
“I enjoyed the peer feedback aspects of this course, through both Voxer and the Wicked Problem Project document. Especially the feedback on the WPP—there was definitely more feedback to give on an assignment that clearly contained more personal investment, time, effort, and overall result than the typical assignments I’ve had a chance to give feedback on in other courses. Bravo!” – CEP 812 Student, Fall 2020
