Master’s of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis

The MA-ABA program is intended to provide students an opportunity to develop and grow in the skills of behavior analysis to ultimately help improve the quality of life of their consumers in a variety of settings. This program is relevant for persons interested in pursuing careers in behavior analysis that require the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) credential. This is a hybrid program, offering the convenience of online coursework combined with on-campus instruction and a small cohort. Practicum fieldwork is supervised directly by MSU faculty.

Master’s of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis & Autism Spectrum Disorders

Our fully online program is for current and future behavior analyst practitioners who hope to shape the future with their work. Like the MA-ABA, the M.A. in Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorders will prepare students to sit for (and have careers that require) the Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA) credential. The program allows students to find, and remain in, career settings for individuals with autism.

Master’s of Arts in Educational Technology

Built on a strong foundation of the psychological theories of learning, the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program develops innovative educational leaders who seek to transform teaching and learning. Graduates will be able to utilize technologies to support teaching and learning in a range of educational environments, and also develop deep understandings of how, when and why to integrate technology to support learning processes. The program can be completed through our flexible program pathways: fully online, summer hybrid, and/or summer overseas.

Master of Arts in Learning Experience Design

The Master of Arts in Learning Experience Design (MALXD) program provides a critical lens of equity, accessibility, and social justice in human-centered learning and design. MALXD learners become leaders in the thoughtful consideration and examination of issues that impact learners as unique individuals and create well-informed, playful, and powerful learning design solutions.

Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology

The nationally ranked Educational Psychology and Educational Technology (EPET) doctoral program produces scholars and leaders in the study of human learning and development and/or in the development and study of diverse technologies supporting learning and teaching. Ph.D. in Measurement & Quantitative Methods

The Measurement and Quantitative Methods (MQM) Program at Michigan State University offers a doctoral program for students wishing to specialize in educational and psychological test development, or quantitative methodology as applied to problems in educational and social science research. Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education

The mission of the Michigan State University Rehabilitation Counselor Education Doctor of Philosophy degree program is to prepare graduates to work as rehabilitation counselor educators, supervisors, researchers, and practitioners in academic and clinical settings. The program is designed to: (a) extend the knowledge base of the rehabilitation counseling profession in a climate of scholarly inquiry, (b) prepare students to inform professional practice by generating new knowledge for the profession, (c) support faculty and students in publishing and presenting the results of scholarly inquiry, and (d) equip students to assume positions of leadership in the rehabilitation counseling profession. School Psychology Ph.D.

The Michigan State University School Psychology Ph.D. program’s overall mission is to equip psychologists with the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to provide quality psychological services to children, youth and families in multiple settings, as well as to conduct research in related areas. The program includes a planned sequence of coursework in school psychology and supporting disciplines, complemented by practica and internship experiences. Students in the program receive the training necessary to become both a Certified School Psychologist in Michigan, as well as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). Students are also license-eligible as psychologists, pending completion of state-level licensure requirements.

Special Education Undergraduate

The Special Education Teacher Preparation Program combines regular elementary teaching certification and K-12 endorsement in the special education area of learning disabilities. Both certification and endorsement are awarded only after completion of a fifth-year internship experience.
