Accreditation and Certification
The program is designed to align with the 2024 Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) standards. The program will collect program and student statistics starting Fall 2025 and will submit for self-study for CACREP accreditation review.
The MSU Clinical Mental Counseling Program is designed based on the 2014 CACREP standards. Students who complete the program will be eligible to apply for the Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) immediately post-graduation. Supervision hours after graduation allows students to apply for the full licensure of License Professional Counselor (LPC).
