Welcome to the College of Education at Michigan State University, one of the nation’s top schools for preparing leaders in education, health and human development. I am honored to continue serving the college in my role as dean.
In my time here and as an education scholar, I have seen how our faculty and staff’s commitment to excellence and collaboration sets this college apart. Together we work to carry out innovative research on many of the greatest challenges facing schools, families, communities and universities, striving to have our findings make a difference in practice. As an AAU, Land-Grant university, we are committed to using top-quality scholarship to improve lives in Michigan, in the U.S., and internationally. The drive to improve teaching, learning, and well-being for all people guides our efforts, from outreach projects in urban and international settings to the renowned five-year Teacher Preparation Program and highly ranked graduate programs—including a growing number of certificates and online options.
I encourage you to explore how you can contribute to the College of Education community, by enrolling in an academic program, partnering with our scholars, providing financial support or engaging with our community on social media. Our many publications provide a vibrant look at how our individual achievements add up to create an extraordinary impact on policy and practice promoting well-being and education around the globe.
