2021 Play Math Summer Enrichment Programs- Making Math at Home

In accordance with guidance from MSU, all youth programs will be offered virtually in Summer 2021.  We will be offering online Play Math Summer Math Enrichment Programs this summer.  The schedule and offerings will be coming out on a rolling basis.  Registration will soon be available for the online summer offerings.  With the exception of “Making Math at Home”, camps will cost $80, with scholarships available.  Due to the inclusion of a supply package, “Making Math at Home” will cost $105.

Making Math at Home :

Target Audience: Students entering grades 4-8.

Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-4pm, June 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, July 1  If this camp gets sufficient enrollment, we will open an additional section, and students who are already enrolled will have opportunity to switch sections. 

Instructor: Shelley Kandola

Cost: $105–this price includes a package of supplies for the camp and a printed camp T-shirt which will be designed by the participants as part of the camp.

Enrollment: Minimum of 6 students to run; Maximum of 10 students.

Format: facilitated online course twice weekly for three weeks; students will use Zoom for scheduled meetings and will use the time between class meetings to work on hands-on projects to share with the group.  All zoom sessions will be facilitated by instructor Shelley Kandola.

Description: This camp will be organized around a series of mathematical creations and explorations for students to engage in from home.  Some supplies will be needed; a supply list will be distributed in advance of camp.
