Advancing Science in Elementary Classrooms: A Call to Action
May 29, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 3:30 pm EDT
Children are naturally inquisitive and have a desire to explore the world around them. They ask questions and use their curiosity to inspire creative solutions. Early exposure to science is essential for experiencing the joy of science, understanding phenomena, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, fostering scientific literacy, and beginning to prepare for the STEM workforce.
A leadership team from the Michigan Science Education Leadership Association (MSELA) and Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA), along with CREATE for STEM Institute, invite ISD leadership, teacher leaders, instructional coaches, district curriculum directors, principals and other local leadership to join us for a day of discussion and collaboration focused on creating a research-based, sustained pathway to science education for our youngest learners. Return to your districts prepared to engage constituents with resources and tools needed to support moving forward.
This event is free of charge and will include breakfast and lunch. Registration is required!
