Join for a conversation at 4 p.m. ET Monday, Dec. 7 about the significance of the 2020 election on the future of Michigan schools, hosted by Chalkbeat Detroit, the Education Trust-Midwest, and the Detroit Free Press.

This election comes amid growing calls for lawmakers to address equity issues in Michigan schools, and as new leadership at the federal level could usher in new policy initiatives.

The panel will feature Michigan lawmakers, students, and teachers in conversation on how schools are coping with pandemic learning, equitable education funding, missing students, accountability during COVID-19, and the long-term effects of the pandemic. Nancy Kaffer of the Detroit Free Press and Koby Levin of Chalkbeat will moderate.

This event is the first in a series of conversations hosted by Chalkbeat Detroit, the Education Trust-Midwest, and the Detroit Free Press. This is also part of a post-election Chalkbeat event series highlighting voter and student voices across America.
