
AI in Education Community of Practice (CoP) – Spring 2025

The AI in Education Community of Practice (CoP) is a three-part discussion series exploring the evolving role of artificial intelligence in teaching, research and higher education policy. As AI tools continue to develop, this series will provide a space for faculty, graduate instructors and researchers to engage in conversations about how AI is currently being used, practical strategies for integrating AI into courses, and the institutional policies shaping its future. Each session will include discussion of ongoing developments in AI, making this series useful for both those new to AI in education and those looking to update their knowledge.
Session topics include:
- April 2: AI in Education – What’s Changed Since 2022?
- April 16: Using AI in Teaching – Practical Strategies for Course Design and Student Engagement
- April 30: AI Policy and Ethics in Higher Education – Preparing for the Future
This series is co-hosted by the Office of Academic and Student Affairs and CREATE for STEM. Light refreshments will be provided.

April 30 – AI Policy and Ethics in Higher Education: Preparing for the Future
As AI adoption grows, universities are developing policies and guidelines to address ethical concerns, academic integrity and AI literacy. This session will explore the long-term implications of AI in education, emerging policies and best practices for responsible AI use. Participants will discuss what AI literacy means for educators and students and how institutions can prepare for the next phase of AI integration in teaching and research.
