The critical role of transparent leadership in shaping organizational culture for equity, inclusion and access

John T. Yun is an associate professor of education in the College of Education at MSU. He brings a longstanding commitment to, and experience with, issues of equity, access and inclusion. His research focuses on the effects of school context on educational barriers for underrepresented students in the education system. More recently, he has been focusing on how local data can be used to improve practice in both K-12 and higher education institutions. He has a successful track record publishing in top-peer reviewed journals and was the founding director of the University of California Educational Evaluation Center (UCED), a seven-campus center that addressed educational problems through the rigorous evaluation of potential solutions. For the past five years, he has served as the K-12 unit coordinator in the Department of Educational Administration, where he gained a great deal of experience learning about the College of Education and MSU.
