Between Populist Resentment and Elite Capture

October 11, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Higher education is a target of anti-elite resentment for right-wing populists and is identified by progressives as a steeply stratified social system that reproduces inequality. Can higher education establish a public purpose that effectively confronts these challenges?

This talk will be presented by Dr. Brendan Cantwell of the Department of Educational Administration as part of the Friday Forum on Neoliberalism & Public Higher Education.

The Friday Forum provides a venue for MSU faculty, staff, students and administrators to discuss the transformation of public higher education through the imposition of market logic and relations.

If you’re unable to attend in person, join us on Zoom for the event.
