Building Community Using Circles: Navigating Uncomfortable Conversations

March 28, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

BUILDING COMMUNITY USING CIRCLES: NAVIGATING UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS happening Friday, March 28 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Erickson Hall, Room 252

This experiential workshop is a pedagogical approach aimed at facilitating trust in the classroom and building authentic relationships that bridge cultural divides created by real and perceived differences. Grounded in Indigenous storytelling practices, community circles promote empathetic listening, reflection, and the humanization of all people. Participants will engage in group interactions and 1:1 conversation, led by Heather A. Hathaway Miranda, a trained racial healing practitioner through Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) Greater Chicago.
