CEPSE Chair Candidate Presentation: Cary Roseth

March 27, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am EDT

Cary Roseth

The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education has entered the public phase of its search to replace Dr. Richard S. (Dick) Prawat after 26 years of energetic and faithful service as department chair. Three CEPSE faculty members have applied for the position, and each will give presentations about their vision for the department under their direction as chair. All members of the College of Education community are welcome to attend.

All three talks and the extended question and answer period that follow will be videotaped and made available for viewing after the final presentation. All members of the college community will be invited to submit feedback on each candidate.

Better By Design

CEPSE’s next chair faces the unique challenge of leading a department composed of five highly regarded but distinct programs that have been faithfully served by the same person over over 26 years. The department achieved much during this time and is well-positioned to achieve even more in the future. But to do so, it must first harness the creative potential of this unique moment in time when the desire to innovate and change might also conflict with the desire to maintain the status quo. CEPSE needs to do both, of course, and in this talk, Roseth will outline his vision of the processes by which the community can work together to maintain our strengths, continuously improve and achieve an even better future.
