“Community & Connection”

March 8, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EST

An interactive, community gathering to share art, stories, and foster connections! Inviting all international graduate students in the College of Education!

Please join this event, open to all international graduate students in the College of Education, for a community circle on Friday March 8th 12pm- 1.30pm EST in-person! The theme for this circle is “Community and Connection.” There will be three more sessions this semester and will send dates for those soon. The circles will be facilitated by College of Education students, Lamia Bagasrawala and Seyoung Hong. The circles are designed as reflective, interactive and experiential community spaces for fostering connections, art-based reflections and sharing stories/narratives. In these circles, participants will incorporate arts-based practices using mediums like visual art, stories, poetry, photographs, crafts, and elements of nature to engage with the self metaphorically, identify our strengths and assets, reflect on our well-being, and critically engage with ideas of self-care. Prior knowledge/ experience with any arts or art modalities is not required.

Please register by March 2nd so that we can plan for materials and lunch accordingly. We will close registrations when we reach a capacity of 12 participants.

Register here.

Event room number will be emailed following your registration.

Please reach out to Lamia (bagasraw@msu.edu) and/or Seyoung (hongseyo@msu.edu) with any questions.
