D2L Pedagogies: Designing for Online Learning Experiences

September 3, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Whether your course is fully online or supported by digital elements, The College of Education’s Digital Instruction Support Community is here to support you. We’re eager to adapt our offerings to meet you wherever you happen to be. Choose a level of support that meets your needs—from one-on-one consultations to customized course audits, to DIY tools for course mapping. We invite all instructors in the College, especially those new to D2L, to join us next week for D2L Pedagogies: Designing for Engaging and Inclusive Online Learning Experiences, facilitated by Liz Owens Boltz, Stephanie Jennings, and Gabrielle King.

This workshop is designed to help you prepare for the semester by strengthening your pedagogical understandings of D2L. For us, this means understanding how to implement thoughtful, intentional, and inclusive practices. We will introduce participants to foundational skills and strategies necessary to create well-structured, engaging, accessible online learning experiences. Tenure stream and adjunct faculty, graduate assistants—anyone who teaches courses in the College of Education is welcome.  Since this session will be focused primarily on pedagogical strategies rather than technical tutorials, we highly recommend the D2L Self-directed Training for Instructors and these upcoming workshops from MSU IT for instructors who are new to the college and need support with course setup. For continued support throughout the academic year, please visit the DISC’s website and keep an eye out for regular content from DISC in the College of Education’s Internal Insights newsletter.

There will be two opportunities to attend the session via Zoom next week:

  • Tuesday, August 31 at 1pm

  • Friday, September 3 at 10am
