December 2024 College Doctoral Convocation

Each fall and spring semester, the College of Education hosts a Doctoral Convocation (hooding ceremony) for candidates who have completed their programs of study. Below, you will find information on this year’s event:

Who is eligible to participate?: Ph.D., Ed.D. and Ed.S. students who orally defend their dissertation between July 1 and Dec. 31 may only participate in the fall (December) ceremony.

Doctoral students planning to graduate this semester: The College of Education will celebrate your accomplishments at the Doctoral Convocation (hooding ceremony) on Dec. 13 at 1 p.m. in the Erickson Hall KIVA. Candidates who meet the following Fall 2024 eligibility requirements can participate:

  • Ph.D. candidates must have defended their dissertation or have a dissertation defense scheduled no later than Dec. 31, 2024
  • Ed.D. and Ed.S. candidates must plan to complete all program requirements before Dec. 31, 2024

Signing up to participate in this ceremony is a two-step process:

  1. Beginning Wednesday, October 23, sign up to participate via Qualtrics. The deadline to register is Friday, November 15 at 5:00 pm ET.
  2. After you submit your Qualtrics questionnaire, it will route to your program advisor for approval. They will have until December 1 to complete their portion.
