Doctoral Convocation (Classes of 2020, 2021)
September 17, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm EDT
The College of Education is hosting a special in-person Doctoral Convocation (Hooding Ceremony) on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11:30. in the Erickson Hall Kiva. The ceremony, in addition to university Commencement activities, serves as a special recognition for those obtaining their doctoral degree(s) from the College of Education. University Commencement begins at 2:00 pm in the Breslin Student Events Center.
We are excited to provide an in-person celebration opportunity for our graduates who were unable to celebrate in this format due to COVID-19 restrictions. We will also livestream this event so that loved ones near and far can join in your celebration.
We welcome participation in this ceremony by any conferred graduate who earned their Ph.D., Ed.D., or Ed.S. from the College in Spring 2020, Summer 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021 or Summer 2021. Spartan alumni who fit this criteria received a link to apply to the ceremony in their MSU email account. If you believe your degree was conferred during one of the five semesters listed (above) but did not receive an application to participate, please reach out to Jennifer Brown (brown661@msu.edu).
PHOTOGRAPHY AND LIVESTREAMING
In addition to being livestreamed, this event will be photographed by members of the College of Education staff. Photos from the event will be shared via email to graduates and on social media in days following the event.
Please keep in mind this event is being planned based on guidelines and protocols accurate as of time of this event announcement (Aug. 16, 2021). While we look forward to the opportunity to celebrate our doctoral graduates, plans may need to be changed depending on any future changes to university, local, state or federal guidelines. Conferred graduates from the semesters listed above will receive notices of any changes in their MSU email account, and changes will also be reflected on this event listing. We ask for your patience as/if plans need to be modified. As always, the health and safety of Spartans is our top priority.
