Echoes & Reflections: Jewish Refugees & the Holocaust
October 26 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm EDT
WHAT IS ECHOES & REFLECTIONS?
Sponsored by Lansing Community College, Echoes & Reflections is the premier source for Holocaust educational materials and dynamic content, empowering teachers and students with the insight needed to question the past and foresight to impact the future. LCC partners with educators to support them, foster confidence and amplify their skills and resources to teach about the Holocaust in a comprehensive and meaningful way.
WHY ATTEND THIS PROGRAM?
As the world struggles with the largest refugee crisis since World War II, Echoes & Reflections’ content can help examine the barriers to immigration and the unwillingness of the free world to accept refugees during the Holocaust. This timely learning opportunity supports educators to make meaningful connections with their students to similar issues affecting people and nations today.
- Explore a sound pedagogy for the planning and implementation of Holocaust education in the classroom;
- Enhance personal knowledge about the Holocaust, and specifically the plight of Jewish refugees;
- Discover and utilize multimedia assets, including visual history testimonies and additional resources, such as IWitness, a companion website with interactive student-centered activities and
- Identify opportunities to connect the lessons of the Holocaust with today’s refugee crisis
