Elementary Reading Search Job Talk

Please join us for a job talk given by Dr. Erica M. Barnes, Assistant Professor from University of Albany, titled:
‘Fostering Literacy Development through Language’
Dr. Barnes will present her work examining how teachers support young children’s acquisition of academic registers. Using quantitative and qualitative methodology, she investigates how lexical, grammatical, and discourse-level features of teachers’ talk in a variety of instructional settings and disciplines are associated with the language and literacy development of young children enrolled in Head Start and elementary classrooms.
