In Their Voices: Students Speak with Secretary Cardona
June 24, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
About this event
Hear student panelists from Michigan, New York, and Tennessee in a conversation with Secretary Cardona on June 24 from 7-8 p.m. ET. Students will share their own experiences of learning during a pandemic and ask the secretary questions about the policy changes they seek in their schools, districts, and communities.
Following the panel, Chalkbeat managing editor Sarah Darville will interview Secretary Cardona about students’ return to school buildings, planning for next school year, and the live discussions across the country about how to teach history and address racism.
Please RSVP for this premiere so we’re able to provide the streaming information. This virtual event is free to attend, but we do offer the option for a donation split between Chalkbeat and The Education Trust to support our work and events like this.
Chalkbeat is a nonprofit news organization committed to covering one of the city’s most important stories: the effort to improve schools for all children, especially those who have historically lacked access to a quality education.
The Education Trust is a national nonprofit that works to close opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income families.
