Presentation Title: Started from the Top, Now We’re Here: Shifting the Foundation of Concussion Research

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Dr. Jessica Wallace, Ph.D., MPH, LAT and ATC, is an assistant professor at the University of Alabama. Dr. Wallace received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from the University of Miami, a master’s degree in physical education from the University of Central Florida, and a master’s degree in epidemiology from Harvard University. Dr. Wallace is also a Spartan and graduated with a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Michigan State university in 2015. Dr. Wallace’s research approach is a blend of athletic training and public health, and she studies the impact of social determinants of health on athletic training healthcare, specifically concussion. Her work aims to identify, understand, and reduce health inequities that are leading to health disparities.
