MSU Doctoral Degrees Commencement Ceremony

On December 18 and 19, Michigan State University will host a virtual commencement celebration for undergraduate and graduate students earning degrees at the end of the 2020 fall semester. For more information on these university events, please see the graduate information on the commencement webpage.
The virtual ceremonies will be posted on the commencement website homepage for viewing on the dates and times listed above. All ceremonies are virtual and will be in a traditional commencement ceremony format with speakers, recognition of graduates, and the conferral of degrees. No graduates will be shown. Graduate names will be scrolled at the end of the ceremonies.
ALL CEREMONY TIMES (UNIVERSITY-WIDE)
Master’s Degrees: Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
Doctoral Degrees: Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
Baccalaureate Degrees: Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
The College of Education is planning to hold a live virtual ceremony to recognize each student graduating with their Ph.D., Ed.D., or Ed.S. degree and celebrate their achievements. The dean, chairpersons, hooding advisors and candidates are required to wear regalia during the one-hour event, which will be recorded for future sharing. The virtual doctoral (hooding) ceremony will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
