Project FUTURE Open House

Project FUTURE—Focus on the Underserved in Transition Using Rehabilitation and Education—is a collaborative training program. Applicants may apply to Michigan State or Penn State in Special Education or Rehabilitation Counseling.
We seek to enroll eight (8) interdisciplinary scholars to begin doctoral training in Fall 2023. Scholars will become leaders in transition research and pre-service preparation to improve post-school outcomes for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) from underserved communities.
Enrolled scholars will receive:
- Annual stipend, tuition and benefits
- Moving expenses
- Annual funds for course materials
- Annual funds for research projects and conference travel
- Funds for computer equipment and software
- Interdisciplinary and cross-university collaboration and mentoring
- Opportunities to visit community sites in MI and PA
- Opportunities for apprenticeship in research, teaching and clinical service
- Opportunity to be a part of a cohort of eight (8) engaging scholars
Project FUTURE is funded through the Office of Special Education Programs #H325D220056. Funding available at both universities.
