Sites of Memory: Reflecting on 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda

This exhibit commemorates the 1994 Rwanda genocide against the Tutsi and explores the history of the genocide through a virtual tour using 360° video technology.
Several prominent memorial sites in Rwanda are features and includes testimonial interviews with genocide survivors.
Screening times begin at 5:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. RSVPs are encouraged to select a preferred viewing time. The overall event begins at 6:00 p.m., with remarks at 6:30 p.m.

About the film
Developed in partnership with the Michigan State University African Studies Center with financial support from MSU’s Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives Creating Inclusive Excellence Grants. Directed by Erik Ponder, African Studies Librarian. Narrated by Laura Apol, Associate Professor, Teacher Education. Videographer/editor: Justin Leggs, MSU African Studies Center.
