Spartan Project SEARCH Opening Ceremony

October 5, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am UTC-5

Join us as we celebrate the launch of Spartan Project SEARCH, a national transition program for young people with disabilities now available at Michigan State University. This fall, 10 students are starting yearlong internships in various settings on campus, combined with classroom time provided by Ingham Intermediate School District.
The program will help participants gain the skills they need to be successful in the workforce.

A project of the Research in Autism, Intellectual and other Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (RAIND) initiative, Spartan Project SEARCH is co-directed by MSU College of Education faculty members Connie Sung and Marisa Fisher. Partners include Ingham Intermediate School District, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Peckham and the Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties.

Speakers will include:

  • Michigan Lt. Governor Brian Calley
  • MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon
  • Project SEARCH Co-founder Susie Rutkowski

If you plan to attend, please pre-register online. A complimentary tour of the Facility for Rare Isotope beams will follow the ceremony.
