STEM 101 Webinar: Major Policy Issues for the 117th Congress

Our nation’s current and future prosperity is directly tied to excellence in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and computer science education(the STEM fields). American leadership demands having a world-class education system, focusing on 21st-century skills, and preparing the best workforce in the world. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the essential role STEM education in responding to current public health and economic crises and mitigating future ones. The pandemic has revealed both the incredible achievement of American STEM professionals and also the concerning access and equity gaps to high-quality STEM learning opportunities that exist and threaten our nation’s preparedness to meet the STEM challenges of the future. This webinar will highlight K-12, higher education, CTE, informal and afterschool, diversity and workforce issues that have implications for STEM education – and the work of the 117th Congress.
