Teacher Education for Computational Thinking
January 26, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST
In the report, Computational Thinking for an Inclusive World, there is a call for all educators to integrate computational thinking into disciplinary learning across K-12 education, while centering inclusivity, to equip students with the skills they need to participate in our increasingly technological world and promote justice for students and society at large. The sustainability of this pedagogical innovation depends on the ability to make computational thinking a part of every teacher’s toolbox. It is suggested that embedding computing instruction within pre-service education programs would support teachers to arrive at the classroom ready to introduce students to computing and leverage computational thinking for disciplinary learning.
In this webinar, expert panelists will share unique perspectives on integrating computational thinking into teacher education programs. The panelists will engage in a discussion related to their experiences, followed by Q&A from the audience.
