The Changing Face of Teacher Preparation

The Education Policy Center at Michigan State University is hosting a The Changing Face of Teacher Preparation: Aspirations, Designs and Evidence, a one-day conference on teacher preparation. The conference will bring together some of the nation’s top researchers and leaders of various types of programs. Speakers will discuss the history of teacher preparation, who is teaching today, and the goals, approaches and assessment of teacher preparation in the United States. New approaches to teacher preparation such as Teach-Now will be discussed along with more traditional teacher preparation programs. Speakers will conclude by addressing questions about the future of teacher preparation, changes that are likely in the future, and how those changes will be guided.
