Women’s Networking Association Learning Session

February 12, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am EST

“Women Do it Differently!”

This highly interactive session is designed to expand women’s sense of who they are as leaders and what they need, on an on-going basis, for support and encouragement from one another. We will use the Athena Leadership Model as our base and discuss how women leaders lead differently from the traditional make, hierarchical model of management. Several protocols, or strategies, will be used to structure and facilitate 1-1 and small-group conversations during the session.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Nancy A. Colflesh, Ph.D., will serve as the learning advocate for this session. Formerly an adjunct and assistant professor in the Department of Educational Administration at Michigan State University, she has worked as a consultant with a variety of school districts and other professional organizations in their quest for higher levels of intentional leadership practice and efficient and effective group work. She earned her doctorate at MSU, where her dissertation research on women leaders received national recognition from the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Later, she received the UCEA Excellence in Educational Leadership Award. Several years ago, she was one of ten finalists for the Greater Lansing Woman of the Year Award. Five years ago, recognition was established by the Department of Educational Administration’s award: Nancy A. Colflesh, Ph.D., Distinguished Alumni Award. Most importantly, she is a life-long learner.
