Writing & Publishing in Academia: Thriving While “Getting it Done”

October 30, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

This workshop for pre-tenure and early career faculty focuses on how to publish more efficiently and effectively. You will have time to reflect on your writing process. You will examine how to strengthen your voice in your academic writing, how to find balance between writing and other parts of your life, and how to boost productivity of publications.

Facilitator: Dana Mitra has been teaching about academic writing and “getting it done” for over fifteen years. She is a trained professional coach and a full professor at Penn State. In her own work, she has published three books and over 40 peer-reviewed articles on finding voice and making change. She is the editor of two academic journals, The American Journal of Education and the International Journal of Student Voice, and a mom of two busy teenagers.
