Our monthly celebration of CED grad student successes:
- Anne Drew Hu, an Educational Psychology and Educational Technology (EPET) doctoral student, is second author on a journal article accepted to Computer Science Education, titled “These Two Worlds Are Antithetical”: Epistemic Tensions in Integrating Computational Thinking in K12 Humanities and Arts.
- Olamide Ogungbemi, an EPET doctoral student, received the GROW Leadership fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year. This one-year, cohort-based program empowers graduate students to lead change-oriented projects with a focus on community.
- Kinesiology doctoral student Corinne Hobbs received the MSU Council of Graduate Students (COGS) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Award. This award recognizes graduate-level Spartans who exemplify and actively promote DEI by addressing, challenging or dismantling discrimination, sexism, racism and prejudice within their program, unit or department.
- Elizabeth Hicks, a Special Education doctoral student, received the Badar-Kaufman Early Career Scholar Award for her research exploring reading intervention in adult correctional facilities.
- Educational Policy doctoral students Aliya Bizhanova and Aanchal Gidra were recently featured in a Global Voices Spotlight Series interview, where they shared insights into their academic journeys, focusing on topics such as international education policy, youth experiences in schooling and teacher development.
