College of Education Writing Groups: Finals Week Writing Space
May 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CoE Writing Groups will be hosting a Finals Week Writing Space in 252 Erickson Hall. Stop by whenever to work on your writing project, say hello, and/or grab some food. Midnight Study Break
May 1, 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Join MSU Policy & Public Safety at the STEM Teaching and Learning Facility for a Midnight Study Break. Take a break, get refreshed, and connect with supportive community members ahead of finals. There will be therapy dogs, fitness classes, a DJ, games, and more. MSU IDs will be required for entry. International Visiting Scholar Talk: Niklaus Karlsen
May 2, 12 to 1 p.m. “Preparing Pre-Service Teachers to Use Programming with Modeling in Science Education”: Niklas Karlsen is a Ph.D. student at Oslo Metropolitan University in Norway, where he works on the NFR-funded research project TRELIS with developing teaching resources for pre-service teacher education on the use of programming and modeling in science education. Write Winning Grants 2023
May 10-11. This two-day event comprehensively covers practical and conceptual aspects essential to the proposal-writing process. Learn how to tailor your content to relevant agencies, develop strategies for each section of the application, and to articulate your proposal in a way that makes reviewers want to read it. Office of Research & Innovation Research Enhancement Award
Did you know funds are available to support activities that enhance graduate student research projects? These funds are available to support research activities including workshop participation (both in-person or virtual), data collection, short courses, extramural laboratory rotations, or the cost of disseminating the results of research and creative activities. Enhancement awards are intended to match/supplement funds provided by advisors, units and colleges and will range from $500 to $1,000. Learn more via the Graduate School

CSTAT Seminars
MSU’s Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT) offers a variety of seminars that are available to anyone, including graduate students (some are eligible for RCR credit).
