The Florida State University, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies invites applications for four (4) tenure-track positions for Fall 2012. Application review starts December 7, 2011.
The Department has a long and distinguished record of engagement in research and development that spans the PK-20 continuum in the U.S. and international settings. Candidates hired for the listed positions will teach and advise academically and professionally oriented students in our master’s and doctoral programs in Educational Leadership & Policy or Higher Education. The program faculty are actively engaged in research, employing a range of disciplinary perspectives and research methodologies. We seek colleagues who can contribute to our shared vision of conducting research that matters and in working together to the further development of a vibrant and growing Department. Successful candidates will have a focused agenda of research and evidence of or potential for effective teaching and advising at the graduate level as well as the ability to sustain a program of scholarly activity and a commitment to pursue external research funding. Candidates at the associate level should demonstrate a strong and consistent record of research that includes pursuit of external funds to support research. The Department has a longstanding commitment to multi-disciplinary research and encourages applicants to apply who are prepared in education, public administration, policy or associated disciplines, including economics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history and philosophy or other related areas. Faculty in ELPS have a strong track record of engagement and hold or have held a number of leadership roles in their professional associations.
