Wingate University Lecture on the ISYS and Detroit PAL Partnership
Wingate University invited Dr. Larry Lauer and Detroit Police Officer and Detroit Police Athletic League Youth Development Officer Marcus Norwood to discuss their two organization’s efforts to use youth sport to better the lives of young people. Dr. Lauer and Officer Norwood discuss the mentoring and coaching programs that ISYS and Detroit PAL are implementing, as well as what is being learned from evaluation. Finally, they examine the impact of their work on youth participation in gangs in Detroit.
