Important Dates

Can I drop one of my courses?  Will I receive a refund?

These are questions that our students are asking at the moment, and while each situation is different, we want to provide important (general) information.

• For the vast majority of classes, the last day to drop a class with a refund is 2/3/17 by 8:00pm.  Just like add dates, you must check your specific section number.
• Please do not drop a class without consulting with an academic advisor.

To view all important dates for each class, please use the following instructions:

1. Go to https://schedule.msu.edu/
2. Click Schedule Builder
3. Log in
4. Click on the section number for the course/s in which you are interested.  If you select section 001 of KIN173, for example, the following will appear:
   

   Section Dates

   Class Begins

   1/9/2017
   Open adds end (8:00pm)

   1/13/2017
   Last day to drop with refund (8:00pm)

   2/3/2017
   Last day to drop with no grade reported (8:00pm)

   3/1/2017
   Class Ends

   4/28/2017

Seniors,

Don’t forget to apply for graduation!  Remember, you will apply for the semester in which you intend to graduate.  For example, if you plan to walk in May, but need to finish degree requirements over the summer, please apply for summer (US17) graduation.

You can apply for graduation using http://commencement.msu.edu/.
