Dear College of Education Undergraduate Students —
All of us in the MSU College of Education have been concerned about the news we have been hearing and what it means for our community. Last Tuesday I invited College of Education faculty, staff, and graduate students to a morning town hall meeting, in which I gave a short update on recent events and answered questions. Those assembled then had the opportunity to break into smaller groups, to talk about how they were feeling, what they were hearing from others, and what recommendations they had for what steps our college should take move toward a more just, supportive, and safe university.
I met Monday night with our college’s Student Leadership Council, made up of leaders from several organizations of undergraduates in our college. At the end of our discussion, they recommended that I host a town hall focused on our college’s undergraduates.
I have scheduled that event for Wednesday, February 21, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Erickson Kiva.
This forum will be a general information session, followed by a time for questions and answers.
I look forward to having an open and honest conversation. I encourage you to reach out to me and other college leaders with questions or concerns at any time.
