Message from Dean Jerlando F. L. Jackson: Grateful for Your Support During a Difficult Time

October 11, 2024

Dear MSU College of Education Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some news about a recent personal event involving Dean Jerlando F. L. Jackson and his family.

Yesterday, Dean Jackson’s family home in Detroit was tragically affected by a large fire. Thankfully, we are relieved to inform you that Dean Jackson, his family, and all others involved are safe, and no one was harmed. Though the damage to their home is significant, the well-being of his loved ones remains their greatest blessing.

Dean Jackson and his family have been deeply moved by the outpouring of support, concern, and kindness from the MSU College of Education and the broader MSU community. As a resident of both Lansing and Detroit, Dean Jackson is especially grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and caring network.

During this challenging time, your continued support means the world to him and his family. Thank you for your understanding, empathy, and for being a pillar of strength as they begin the recovery process.

Warm regards
