Each year, the College of Education Alumni Board of Directors awards scholarships to students who have high academic achievements and can benefit from extra financial support to continue their studies.
These scholarships provide support during one of the most important yet challenging times for students—the internship. This includes the senior-year internship requirement for Kinesiology majors and the fifth-year teaching internship for prospective teachers, with additional special awards for students who were in the Urban Educators or Global Educators Cohort Programs.
Board members have encouraged fellow graduates of the college to share in their commitment to this cause. And you are answering the call—this year, donations to this scholarship fund nearly doubled. But the bar is far from being met. The board hopes to eventually secure enough funding to establish an endowment which would ensure the scholarships can be provided into perpetuity.
