Annis N. Brown, a doctoral student in the Department of Teacher Education, was elected to serve as Chair-Elect for the Graduate Student Council (GSC) of the American Educational Research Association for 2009-2010. This election is an important honor for Annis and brings recognition to our institution as well. AERA is committed to enhancing the quality of graduate student participation in the Association and the Annual Meeting by sponsoring student events throughout the meeting, and Annis will have a major role to play in shaping those activities, as well as bringing ideas back to MSU about how to enhance the education of our doctoral students.
