Greenhow says social networking boosts student performance

Christine Greenhow, assistant professor of educational psychology and educational technology at the Michigan State University College of Education, suggests that social networking websites help students perform better in school.

“When kids feel connected and have a strong sense of belonging to the school community, they do better in school,” Greenhow explained.

Greenhow discovered this while surveying 600 low-income high school students for her research publication, which will be released in the winter.
