College of Education advisor Kristy Dumont was recently awarded the Kappa Delta Pi Regional Counselor Award for the Midwest Region, which covers 10 states. Dumont was selected based on her outstanding work as staff advisor for the MSU KDP chapter. She will be recognized for her achievements at the KDP Biennial Convocation on Nov. 4, 2011 in Indianapolis.
Dumont said it has been a particularly great year for the MSU chapter.
Megan Salada, who served as vice president of service during 2010-2011, was selected to receive the President’s Scholarship from KDP. The $500 award is only presented to five KDP students in the nation each year.
Adding to the chapter’s recent success, the MSU KDP chapter also received the 2011 Achieving Chapter Excellence Award and a $200 award recognizing their Literacy Alive! project. Read more here.
