Department of Teacher Education graduate assistant Faith Muirhead will receive the Excellence-In-Teaching Citation at the all-university awards ceremony at MSU’s Wharton Center on Feb. 12 at 3:30 p.m.

Muirhead, a leader within the college’s teacher education program, provides her students with the tools they need for success. She challenges, encourages and supports. Muirhead came to the college from New York City schools, and draws on her experiences within urban schools – to help those she instructs in understanding the needs of students marginalized in math classrooms.

The Excellence-in-Teaching Citation is awarded to graduate teaching assistants who have distinguished themselves by the care they have given and the skill they have shown in meeting their classroom responsibilities.
