On March 7, the Michigan Science Teachers Association (MSTA) will present Joseph Krajcik with its highest honor for contributions to science education: the 2014 George G. Mallinson Award.
For his major contributions to science education, the award will be presented to Krajcik at the 2014 MSTA Conference, held at the Lansing Center in Lansing, Mich.
Krajcik, director of the CREATE for STEM Institute at Michigan State University, has been a lead writer on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), a fundamentally different approach to learning science.
Given only to individuals the MSTA deems exceedingly worthy, Krajcik was chosen for his significant contributions to science education at the local, state and national level. According to the association, these contributions have also been made over a significant amount of time.
