Professor Emerita MaryLee Davis is one of 11 women being inducted into the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame for 2014.
Davis is being honored for her leadership and work with various organizations dedicated to education, healthcare, public policy, diversity, youth, community service and advocacy for women. Davis is also being heralded by the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame for being a trailblazer and a role model.
Davis had over 35 years of service with Michigan State University when she retired in 2011. During that time, Davis was a professor in the College of Education in the Department of Educational Administration. Her main topics of interest included expertise in governance, policy analysis and women in higher education. Formerly, she was the president of the college’s Alumni Association board.
Davis is also an alumna of the college, earning her Ph.D. in Higher Education in 1974.
Currently, she is a professor of family and community medicine and senior advisor to the dean of the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.
All 2014 inductees to the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame will be honored during a ceremony on Oct. 30 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing. Honorees include CEOs, directors, founders, leaders and entrepreneurs from all over Michigan.
